Barnes Construction was founded in 1978 and is the largest division within The Barnes Group Ltd. We are a medium sized business and one of the largest privately owned construction companies based within East Anglia. We operate predominately within the Eastern Region but also undertake projects on a national basis for a number of repeat business clients. We undertake new build, extension and refurbishment type projects across a number of sectors including Education, Health, Leisure & Retail, Commercial & Industrial and Residential Developments.
We were the first construction company in the region to introduce a management training programme. We are proud to have 'home grown' over 60% of our management team and enjoy very low staff turnover. As well as running craft-based apprenticeships that have an intake from local schools, we focus on training and developing our existing staff rather than being overly-reliant upon external recruitment. We believe that when a member of staff grows up within the company they have the in-built knowledge of our ethos and how our business functions from grass roots through to decision-making positions.
