We are South Manchester's premier timber merchant and D.I.Y. supplier. We are an independent family business and have been trading from our Altrincham site since 1981. We offer a large range of imported and home grown timber, pressure treated timbers as well as top quality skirting, mouldings and beading, sheet materials from Marine Ply through to M.D.F. and hardboards. All can be cut to size in our own one site workshop. Our workshop is where we really shine, no one locally offers a bespoke machining and cutting service 'while you wait'.

Our fully equipped workshop can accommodate almost any machining job. Our two CNC controlled Altendorf ELMO panel saws enable us to turn even the largest cutting list round in the shortest possible timescale. Our workshop also includes auto feed planers, auto feed band saws, cross cut saws, jig saws, routers and sanders. Our skilled workshop team, many of whom have worked as self employed tradesmen, guarantee not only accurately cut material but expert advice if you require any tips on how best to complete your project or how to make the most of your chosen material.
Being a direct importer of hardwood flooring means we can offer an unrivalled selection of top quality flooring, prefinished with lacquer or oil or unfinished, allowing a unique and individual finish once fitted. This can be achieved using our wide range of oils and stains. Our range includes Oak, Walnut, Jatoba, Maple, Bamboo, Teak, Cabreuva, Cherry, Curapay and Kayu Kuku. We also supply a comprehensive range of flooring accessories such as thermal efficient sound reduction underlay, flooring adhesive, matching pipe covers, threshold strips, beading and finishing oils.
We purchased our oak doors from Atlantic timber a few months as they were recommended by a few local joiners. Just wanted to thank them for their fantastic service throughout the process. Having never purchased new doors before, I didn't really know where to start. When I visited the Altrincham showroom, I was talked through and shown all the options available for my requirements. They came up with some great ideas. The order was quickly and efficiently processed and I was kept up to date with delivery so I could arrange a joiner. The quality of the doors are great and really make a difference to our whole downstairs. Thank you again and would recommend to anyone looking for new doors.
Absolutely amazing place I've used Atlantic timber for 5 years at least twice a week Could not find a single negative thing to say about anything or anyone who works there. Very nice people indeed
They can't cut plywood without splintering edges. They were not apologetic and delivered warped plywood to which they blamed me over several emails so I got upset on my last email, Then they ignored me. I was called an amateur. They cut the wood, they did the plumb holes and they supplied the wood warped. Yet I was to blame. The only solution they gave was to offer me magnets. While this is ok and will work on some doors it won't on other pieces of ply that are completely warped they were not willing to recut and re deliver as the manager is so rude he thinks he knows best. Just don't expect great customer service and if something goes wrong they like to ignore or defend rudely
