Britplas is a leading UK contractor specialising in commercial glazing with a product portfolio that includes windows, curtain walling, door systems and security fencing. Operating across the UK and internationally from our North West base, we work with main contractors, architects and clients to design, install and manufacture glazing systems, including award-winning specialist proprietary products and standard systems. In doing so, we have established ourselves as innovators, inventors and fabricators of products that address the key challenges of a wide range of built environments including healthcare, mental health and education as well as the commercial sector.

The Britplas product range includes faade solutions, a range of specialist window products including the Safevent anti-ligature window and security products including Fortress fencing and anti-climb edge profiles. Our commitment to quality and innovation has led to the continuous development of our proprietary product range since its inception and we are also proud to work with some of the best systems manufacturers in the business.

Our project experience spans a wide range from simple stick curtain walling systems to bespoke, fully unitised glazing - delivered across a range of schemes for some of the UK's leading contractors. Britplas has opened an office in Yorkshire in order to meet the requirements of a healthy sales pipeline into 2020 across its commercial glazing services. The Huddersfield office will initially be home to a design team who will work closely with the existing design department based at Britplas' head office in Warrington. Britplas have launched a new operating handle for their award-winning Safevent window. The Multask was launched at Design in Mental Health 2019 and replaces three separate pieces of hardware, bringing improvements in both functionality and aesthetics. The Safevent window is designed specifically for mental health environments, providing safety and security whilst also allowing natural light and ventilation and a high degree of patient control. Up to now, the window controls have comprised a 'wizzy winder', patient thumb lock and staff lock.

With an extensive in-house design team, Britplas can provide complete external envelope solutions, making sure that glazing, cladding, screening and architectural metalwork details are all specified, procured and installed in the most efficient and effective manner to suit the requirements of the scheme. We work with clients from early project planning stages to ensure that buildings meet their functional and aesthetic requirements as well as optimum standards of performance and sustainability. Britplas is a certified supplier of leading aluminium facade systems including Kawneer, Schco, Aluprof and Smart Systems UK.

Our skilled design team specialise in bringing our clients' visions to life in the most efficient and effective manner, offering a comprehensive service to ensure that buildings meet their functional and aesthetic requirements as well as optimum standards of performance and sustainability. Having our own fabrication facility is an integral aspect of our end-to-end service and allows us to achieve the highest levels of quality control and maintain flexibility in our customer service. Unlike many commercial glazing contractors, at Britplas we employ our own highly experienced and trained installation crews, giving us complete control over installation quality and service.

We now have an enviable track record of working in partnership with North American state departments for mental health, and many Australian Government and private organisations as well as various National Health Service Trusts, market-leading private healthcare companies, architects and contractors in the UK. The Safevent is a highly functional operable window, designed to increase natural ventilation and enhance interior environments, yet also able to withstand extreme force, having been tested to over 2000ft-lbs of repeated interior impacts.
