Here at Paul Rowland Cabinetry we specialise in bespoke furniture designed and made to your individual requirements, rather than supplying something that is nearly right. By making everything to commission there are no standardised sizes or styles we have to stick to, which means you get the furniture you want, for your budget. Obviously we cannot compete on price alone with national furniture superstores, but we still believe in catering for most households. We make commissions in a wide variety of materials and finishes, right from hand finished traditional solid wood, to bare or primed MDF, ready for your own surface finishing.
Most homes are not lucky enough to have a separate walk-in wardrobe or dressing room, so our bedrooms will have to contain a large quantity of clothing, footwear, and all the other bits and pieces that seem to not belong anywhere else. Suitcases for instance are often the largest items I design around, and an extra bit of depth or height can make all the difference. It should also be remembered that where we sleep should be a tranquil place, so I tend to be a little more neutral in design. A light paint finish works particularly well to reduce the impact of large wardrobes, which could end up over-bearing.
And now for something completely different. Back at University (in the olden days) I bought a small lot of reclaimed timber, which included a block of Burr (Burl) Walnut. Its been kicking around ever since, and last month I finally got round to cutting off a section and making something with it.
Oh dear, just noticed its been 2 years since I last updated! Well, better late than never I suppose. Recently delivered Kitchen Island and Larder Cabinet. Constructed in High quality Birch Ply with solid hardwood where needed. I didn't make the Oak worktop obviously, but all the rest is bespoke including the spice jar racks.
