Our range of professional services at E2 Consultants include Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (Commercial EPC) also referred to as Asset Rating or Non-Domestic EPC that we can produce at level 3, level 4 & level 5 certification. Other services we cover include, but are not limited to, SBEM Ratings / Calculations for commercial new build projects and extensions / alterations to existing buildings, DSM Thermal Modelling Analysis and SAP Calculations / Ratings, On Construction EPCs for residential new build and alterations / extensions to existing buildings, Air Tightness / Pressure Testing, Part F Testing, Part G Water Efficiency Calculations, Sustainability / Energy Statements, Sound / Acoustic Testing, Environmental Noise Surveys, Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM Credit Reports, Thermographic Surveys on domestic and commercial buildings, Room Integrity Testing, Fire Risk Assessments and Asbestos Surveys / P402 Reports.
You will automatically achieve Compliance with Part L1B if the extension envelope is sufficiently insulated, the area of all openings is within the 25% allowance and building service are sufficient. All SAP Extension Calculations are calculated in accordance with Part L1B of the building regulations. The Calculation is produced by creating a notional and proposed version of the entire dwelling. The notional dwelling is the current building with the extension, this has the known current U-Values of the building and the proposed extension defaulted to the L1B 'Upgraded Thermal Elements' standards.
A thermal survey can be used to unearth multiple issues within properties / buildings. They are a non-intrusive method of examining buildings and can cover a large area quickly and efficiently. It does this by showing varying surface temperature readings, making it clearer to see as an image. Our Level 2 qualified Thermographic Surveyors here at E2 consultants can provide thermal imaging surveys for all the above points using our state of the art infrared thermal cameras. Each of our surveyors will have their pictures analysed and presented in a detailed report with an over site of what each image and area shows and whether a fault is detected.
For a refurbishment/demolition, or type 3, survey, a more destruction method is used over a management survey, as the name suggests. One of our asbestos surveyors will use means such as drilling floor slabs or knocking through walls to access areas where planned work will be undertaken. This ensures that when the building is converted of knocked down that the next team in won't risk running into any asbestos that could be hazardous to their health and slow the project. For an asbestos management survey, formally a type 2 survey, one of our surveyors will take small samples of suspected asbestos from a property to be sent to a lab for testing.
Today takes 2 of our expert engineers, air pressure testing this enormous modular classroom building in Tring, Hertfordshire, this took 4 fans to test this large space and unfortunately resulted in a Fail. some remedial sealing will be required to areas that we have identified as leaking cold air infiltration. #preperationiske y
Failed air pressure test at this new build beauty today, in Henley on Thames, our engineer has meticulously identified where all the leakage areas are that need to be addressed prior to a restest. we are confident it will pass next time round. #meticulous
