All glass fitted in our doors is energy efficient Pilkington K Glass. This is a low emissivity coated glass which reflects heat back into the room whilst also letting in free heat from the sun, known as passive solar gain. Pilkington K Glass helps glazed doors to achieve high energy ratings to comply with Building Regulations Part L. As standard, our composite doors also benefit from ultra-secure steel door frame reinforcing. We use the Kommerling profile systems, which are highly energy efficient and extruded with a unique lead-free compound, and are reinforced with steel to ensure security.

Although all composite doors provided by The Lockwood Window Company are guaranteed (as outlined below), it is important to clean and maintain them on a regular basis. To keep your composite door in top condition, we recommend that it is cleaned every month. Please note: When a FENSA certificate is not applicable a Building Control Certificate will be required which is the responsibility of the home owner, builder or developer. We only use the highest standard of cylinder in our locking systems that have been tested to the highest grade of BS EN 1303 for security, achieving the maximum resistance to physical attack.

In addition to the standard range of Solidor composite doors, we can also provide a bespoke service which allows us to manufacture bespoke composite doors, which use the Solidor slab but can be made to fit any door surround, regardless of shape or size. This also means that we have the ability to create composite doors that incorporate top lights and side panels within a single frame, which provides you with more options and ensures that your new door is probably the most secure and aesthetically pleasing on the market.

A great alternative to the classic Victorian four panel door style, the Edinburgh composite door range features two elongated glazed units to allow natural light to shine through into your home. All our composite doors are available in a choice of 23 colours with matching frames. You can also choose different colours for inside and outside, so you can match your door to your interior decor.
