Established in 1965, Mone Brothers has become one of the UK's largest suppliers of plant equipment, building materials and recycling services to the UK construction industry. While still a family run business, today Mone Bros now employs over 70 skilled operational and managerial staff, offering a diverse range of products and services. Our aim is to provide a world class service to all of our customers, exceeding the required health and safety standards, whilst delivering excellent value for money.
Supplying a range of recycled materials to the construction industry to help protect the environment and reduce our carbon footprint. Waste management and recycling has been an integral part of Mone Bros business for many years. Providing waste management and recycling services has presented us with major legislative and logistical challenges. Equally they have provided us with a commercial advantage. But perhaps more importantly, Mone Bros recognises and takes seriously the key role we play in protecting our local environment.
From our humble beginnings in Leeds, we now employ over 70 staff, supplying a diverse range of equipment and services to the whole of the UK, including: Aggregate Recycling, Tipper Wagon & Plant Machinery Hire, Walling Stone, Quarrying, Sand & Gravel Supplies, Excavations and Site Clearance. Such has been our success at delivering outstanding service, we now work for some of the UKs leading private and public organisations including Carillion plc, Balfour Beatty, Clegg Construction, Interserve, Barhale, Barratt Homes, Persimmon Homes, Yorkshire Water & Leeds City Council.
Providing the complete range of site clearance, demolition and excavation services to the construction and utility industries. For over 50 years, Mone Bros has been providing a range of professional site clearance and demolition services to the construction industry and utility sectors. Mone Bros recognise that the quality and performance of our plant and excavation equipment is key to ensuring that we complete any demolition and site clearance project on time. We invest both time and money to ensure that we have the most modern fleet of plant equipment, regularly servicing all machines to minimise the possibility of breaking down whilst on site.
With two quarries and two further branches situated in Yorkshire, naturally the major of work comes from within the Yorkshire region. We regularly supply plant equipment, natural stone, aggregate materials, recycled type 1, top soil, sand, gravel and crusher run material to construction projects throughout the region, in towns such as Leeds, Wakefield, York, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Selby, Halifax, Bradford, Barnsley, Sheffield, Pontefract and Hull. However, from time to time we also get commissioned to provide materials, particularly our York Stone, further afield in Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol and London.
Supplying the construction and utility industry with a high quality, versatile, recycled sub-base material. Identifying, researching and developing recycled building materials that have a positive impact on the environment is something that Mone Bros are constantly working towards. TYPE 1, was essentially born from a growing need from customers, mainly in the construction and utility sectors, to use recycled materials. This need was supported by a commitment from senior management to reduce the amount of materials sent to landfill and a desire to recycle their collected waste in a more efficient manner.
Since 1979, Mone Bros have quarried and produced natural stone products at Blackhill Quarry in Bramhope, Leeds. The character and individuality of the natural resource continues to prove popular within the UK and its functional qualities and decorative capabilities enable it to be adapted for a wide range of architectural projects. Our range of stone products include Yellow Building Stone, Crusher-Run Sandstone, Crusher-Run Limestone, Grit & Fill Sand, Rockery, Walling Stone, Dimensional Stone, Sawn Paving, Blockstone, Bramley Fall Stone, Fireplaces and Heads & Cills.
Mone Bros can offer Structural Materials for Reinstatement (SMR) and are the only SMR Recycling facility in Yorkshire. As a product, SMR has many environmental gains to the user. SMR allows people to reuse all of their waste and turn it into a product that can be used in the civil engineering and utility markets. This back-fill product is superior to other varieties. The product has become highly popular since 2011 because of reasons that include a decrease in the numbers of landfill sites, an increase in the taxes on landfill and aggregates and the increased push by the government towards even more recycling.
