Ain't no loft room high enough, ain't no basement low enough, ain't no staircase narrow enough to stop me.and the fitters from fitting your carpet. You'll find me in the biscuit aisle, I mean, out the back in the loading bay working hard alongside Paul.
We supply and fit a massive range of carpets including axminsters, wiltons, berbers, velvets, loop piles, natural floor coverings, twists and all different grades of tufted carpets from bedroom quality to heavy duty areas to suit all budgets. At Country Carpets we retail carpets which reflect the latest interior trends. We stock much favoured naturals from manufacturers such as Crucial Trading and Alternative Flooring favoured by interior designers and magazines. We also deal with bespoke manufacturers who are able to make carpets in any width, colour or design, such as Ryalux or Bronte Carpets.
Contrary to popular belief, never mop your laminate floor and try to avoid excessive moisture contact. It should also be noted that your laminate floor is not bomb proof so it is important to protect your floor using felt pads or castors under your furniture. It is a good idea to vacuum clean or sweep the floor using the recommended manufacturers microfibre to remove dirt and dust. When necessary, use a damp cloth. Your laminate floor should not be waxed or polished. Never scrub with steel wool or any other coarse material as this may have a negative effect on the appearance and structure.
Amtico, Karndean or Spacia flooring is extremely hardwearing but even this tough surface can be scratched and marked by sharp grit or other objects. Basic precautions will help keep your floor looking good. The amount of cleaning necessary will depend on your lifestyle and the colour of the floor. Most owners find that a weekly wipe-over is usually enough. It is no longer necessary to apply dressing to a new vinyl floor unless you prefer a semi-gloss finish rather than the intended matt finish. Before applying the dressing, the floor must be clean and any ingrained soiling and previous dressing must be removed with floor dressing remover.
In many cases these days, laminate wood floors can easily be mistaken for the real thing! From white washed to black fumed oaks, our showroom is brimming with a wide selection of species and colours from reputable manufacturers. In fact, we are one of the very few Pergo laminate dealers in the South of England. Wood or laminate floors are not recommended for wet areas such as bathrooms or utility rooms. The wood flooring we supply are suitable for under floor heating. However it is to be noted that wood flooring is subject to expansion and contraction depending on the moisture level in your home.

We also supply and install cushioned vinyl flooring and have a huge selection of flooring readily available in our showroom. There is a common myth that you should let a new carpet 'settle in' for a week or so. In fact, entirely the reverse is true. Virtually all new carpets will shed 'pill' a small amount of loose fibres; these should be removed by vacuuming as soon as possible, otherwise the fibres will be walked back into the carpet and can cause a matted appearance. We recommend you vacuum your new carpet atleast once a week. Loop pile carpets, particularly wool berbers, should not be cleaned with a vacuum which has a beater attachment - this can cause excessive fluffing and matting - this type of carpet should be vacuumed with the suction head only.
To care for your wooden flooring, we would suggest placing furniture on castors to protect wood from being scratched and pressure markings. New urethane finishes require nothing more than sweeping and manufacturers advise against using wax products. Simply sweep, vacuum, or dust-mop at least once a week to minimise damage caused by dirt, sand, and grit. Wipe up spills as they happen. If your finish is in good shape, you can lightly damp-mop the floor using a neutral-pH wood cleaner or products recommended by the flooring manufacturer.
