Upon the initial brief a design was drawn up to meet the clients specification, which involved creating a larger, more usable patio area whilst creating a garden that required less maintenance. The works involved excavating the existing patio, pathways and plant beds. The patio was to be larger in size to create more usable space and would consist of Marshalls Symphony Porcelain paving in 395mm x 795mm sizes, edged with Driveway setts to frame the paving. The surrounding lawn area was leveled using new topsoil and seeded to provide a seamless transition between the paving and lawn.

Gravel driveways provide a cost-effective alternative to block paving as well as being the preferred option where large areas of driveway are required. This choice of surfacing is also very effective as a security measure as thieves are often deterred by a gravel driveway due to the noise that is made whilst walking up the drive. When installing a gravel driveway we use a unique cellular gravel system, with a gravel depth of around 20mm. This system prevents movement of the gravel as well as significantly reinforcing your driveways stability, allowing vehicular traffic, including 4 x 4 vehicles, caravans, tractors, horseboxes and site maintenance equipment.

The following pictures show the before, during and after stages of a porcelain patio installation on behalf of our client based in Billericay, Essex. The initial brief was to expand the existing patio and create a low maintenance patio and walling. A design was created and porcelain was chosen for the paving due to its low maintenance and hard-wearing nature. The patio was framed with contrasting walling and lighting was inset into the paving perimeter to light up the patio at night. I cannot thank Will enough for completely transforming my previously hideous driveway.
