Northburn Solar designs, supplies and installs underfloor heating systems for integration into both traditional and renewable heating systems. We offer design and installation services for both new build, renovations and extensions alike. Underfloor heating works by pumping a controlled flow of warm water from any heat source through plastic tubing embedded in the floor. Northburn Solar offers underfloor heating and radiators systems including point to point distribution with individual thermostatic room control systems to comply with the latest building regulations.
Northburn Solar offers installation of traditional radiators systems sized correctly for performance with low temperature heat sources. These systems prove very popular when retrofitting heat pumps to existing buildings. We provide our clients with a completely integrated heating system all from the one supplier.
Solar Panels are most popular in solar photovoltaic (electric) and Solar thermal (hot water) versions. Northburn Solar is one of the first installers in the country who can now offer solar PVT combined thermal and electric panels and the hybrid solar PVT and heat pump solutions. Solar PV is probably one of the best know system with recent uptake by the public for electric generation and access to feed in tariffs. PV cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers.
Solar photovoltaic (solar PV, solar electric) uses energy from the sun to create electricity to run appliances and lighting. PV systems produce no greenhouse gases. The system will usually supply a small (1kw to 4kw peak for a typical domestic system) but consistent amount of electricity while the sun is shining. The amount will be at its highest in the summer and at the lowest in the depths of winter. Over the year the system could be sized to provide your annual need but most of the output would be in the summer.
