At Woodland we are devoted to producing a range of traditional timber windows and doors unparalleled in quality and performance. Born 30 years ago from a bespoke joinery and design practice, Woodland has evolved to offer a range of timber windows and doors which we believe is unsurpassed. We remain a family-run business and we are proud to say all our wooden windows and doors are manufactured in the UK at our factory in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. We strive to achieve perfection in quality, personal service and attention to detail in everything we do.
John Founded Woodland in 1978 and built the company from the ground up. John is responsible for many of the designs of the windows and doors we manufacture today, and he still plays an active role in the business. John's architectural design background and eye for design detail helps Woodland stand out from the crowd and enables us to provide that unique service our customers expect. Chris has been involved with Woodland in one way or another since he was old enough to walk. Today he is responsible for the day to day running of the company and oversees the management of many of our key projects.
Woodland timber doors are designed with traditional appearance in mind and are built to withstand the rigours of family life. Wooden French doors come in all shapes and sizes. Our expertise enables us to faithfully reproduce the details of your existing doors or design new doors to your individual requirements. External doors can be designed as single, double, triple, 4 section (or more!) and with fixed panels, side lights and top lights. As a standard all Woodland doors have the following qualities: maxiumum durability, high security, superior thermal performance and low maintenance.
Casement windows vary greatly in detail and design and it is Woodland's faithful recreation of period detailing, combined with modern performance that sets our windows apart. Our flush casement windows are made to measure and may be manufactured to replicate your existing windows or to suit your individual requirements. Either way, our designers will work with you to ensure your new wooden windows bring out the best in your home. In response to the problem of noise pollution Woodland now offers a range of windows incorporating acoustic glass and superior acoustic seals to meet the demands of the noisiest urban environments including flight paths and busy roads.
Since we started manufacturing them in 1978 the Woodland traditional box sash window has been continuously evolved and improved upon. Today it is the window of choice for the period Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian home. Woodland has applied modern design expertise with traditional craftsmanship to create a window which offers exceptional thermal and acoustic performance without compromising traditional features. In response to the problem of noise pollution Woodland now offers a range of windows incorporating acoustic glass and superior acoustic seals to meet the demands of the noisiest urban environments including flight paths and busy roads.
Bifold, or 'folding/sliding' doors, offer the perfect opportunity to open up an area; indeed an entire wall may literally be slid back and effortlessly opened up to enable a smooth transition between indoors and outside, providing a great space for entertaining. Bifold doors are perfect for kitchen /dining areas leading onto a garden or patio, and they work at their best when used in a wider opening, although smaller door configurations are possible. Because Woodland bifold doors are made to measure we are able to tailor your doors to your individual requirements, whether you want a contemporary solution or a more traditional appearance featuring glazing bars and period panels, for example.
Woodland offers a choice of timber to suit your individual requirements. All our timber is FSC as standard, and we only use the highest quality materials in everything we manufacture. All timber is sourced with durability, stability and sustainability in mind. Accoya is our timber of choice and offers extreme durability, superior stability (doesn't move or shrink) and requires very little maintenance. Woodland are able to offer an extended guarantee on all windows and doors which are manufactured in Accoya.
Glazing is an increasingly important factor when specifying wooden sash windows, especially in period properties. Thermal performance, acoustics and heritage looks are all influenced by the choice of glass. Because Woodland manufactures all our double glazed units in-house we have the flexibility to choose the most suitable glass for any given situation. All double glazed units are manufactured to the relevant standards (BSEN 1279). This not only gives us total quality control, it also allows us to manufacture a wide variety of specifications including energy saving Argon and Krypton gas-filled units, slim-line heritage units and acoustic glass.
Welcoming customers with regular communication from a member of the team, as well as the back-office work to ensure our products and services are organised professionally and efficiently. Over the past 5 years we have invested significantly in Woodland's machinery infrastructure. We have installed new 5 axis CNC machine, rip-saws, moulding machines, spindle moulders, tenoners, a new dust extraction system and a waste burner which burns our sawdust and heats the factory. We are proud of our workshop and we will be happy to show you around if you wish to visit.
Total quality control is critical to our success so all our double glazed units are manufactured in-house in our purpose built facility. The production of double glazed units is very different to that of joinery. Significant investment has been made in order to meet the demands of modern double glazed unit production. Woodland are therefore able to offer our sealed unit manufacture services to the trade and public.
Woodland specialises in the manufacture and installation of the finest wooded box sash windows, casement windows, French doors and bifold doors. Through experience and applied thinking, Woodland has developed a range of bespoke products which we believe is unsurpassed.
All Woodland windows and doors are factory finished in a Teknos microporous paint system which is guarenteed for 8 years. This is a premium quality, environmentally friendly, low maintenance paint designed to keep your products looking like new for years to come, even in the harshest environments. Paint system is a crucial component of external joinery. Woodland ensures total quality control by supplying all our products fully factory finished in our water-based microporous paint system. All Woodland windows and doors are finished in our purpose built spray facility.
Just a note to say thank you for our beautiful new windows, the whole team were a pleasure to deal with and the installation guys did a fantastic job, highly recommending Woodlands to anyone that asks!
Another job well done. We were a bit unsure about the external colour of the windows the client chose but I must say, I think it looks really smart and suits the house. All windows use our conservation range specification which includes slim frame profiles, high performance slim double glazing units.
A few photos of windows and doors fitted this week at projects in Esher and Thames Ditton despite the horrendous weather we've had. We hope everyone is staying in and keeping safe and warm.
Obscured glazing doesn't have to be boring. We offer several etched pattern options as well as, textured glass, coloured glass and even traditional stained glass which can be fitted inside double glazing to protect it from weathering or fitted in-front of a double glazing unit for an authentic look.
As a manufacturing company working in the construction sector, we are lucky enough to be allowed to remain open in these difficult times. We will be open until Christmas eve, then we shut down until Jan 4th. All our pre-booked installations are proceeding as planned.
Some more nice feedback from one of our customers in Wandsworth where we installed two huge casement bay windows with bespoke mouldings, antique leaded fanlights and slim double glazing for that traditional look and feel.
