I am passionate about seeing, touching and handling furniture that has been loved and cared for. I feel privileged that customers choose to entrust their beloved pieces with me. I enjoy restoring and conserving the history and dignity of a piece of furniture while retaining its character, and I would be delighted to help you with your antique furniture restoration needs. I first began my career when I was a young lad - I picked up a piece of timber, created something from it, and then I took on woodwork at school.

I converted this piece into a secretaire bookcase. The top drawer had to be converted and the cornice had to be altered to match the top section once it had been reduced. Mahogany panels were removed from the door frames, which were converted into two Gothic glazed doors. Shelves were made and fitted. Having bought two bronze figures, this customer required a column for each one to stand on. The component parts were made in a modern board material for stability and the main columns were constructed first, with the plinths and tops added later.

There are numerous services I offer for people with private pieces, insurance companies, loss adjusters or removal firms. An item may be damaged in a minor or major way. It could have been affected by fire, water, or any of the other elements, or just wear and tear. This is another type of finish often used on earlier pieces. It is ideal for furniture that has perhaps lost a little lustre over the years because of use. Fear not, because I can wax furniture to a great finish so that it will glow again whichever room you put it in.
