A WER (Window Energy Ratings) is supposed to be a consumer-friendly method of explaining the overall energy saving performance of a window but it isn't really that clear to many people in the glazing industry so this is all you really need to know about the new Window Energy Ratings. There are many grey areas as to how any specific A, B or C rating is achieved. The rating is given to the window frame and the actual glass combined so there is no such thing as an A rated sealed unit or a B rated window frame.
Leadbitter Glass can create almost any design in Overlay Stained Glass and we can create almost any design for almost any size and shape of glass that you require. Please browse these door galleries and remember that we can also create matching side panels and toplights to accompany your chosen door design.
Before you think about installing glass yourself, make sure you follow our comprehensive guide to measuring your glass correctly. Following our measuring advice could save you a lot of money and although some incorrectly sized glass can be cut down, toughened glass cannot be cut and this is the most popular form of glass supplied by Leadbitter Glass. Always install glass into an ‘already fitted' window or door, it will be much easier to handle and you will reduce the chance of glass breakage.
Historically fused glass has been very expensive due to manufacturing techniques but our new range of fused glass tiles offers a luxury product, manufactured using traditional techniques for a fraction of the cost normally associated with this style of decorative art glass. Combining Fused Glass tiles with an etched glass background is one of the most effective combinations for fused glass and it is one of the more popular requests that we receive. This type of decorative glass is created by slowly heating the pieces of cut glass in a kiln until they fuse together, creating one piece of glass.
Our Bevelled Glass designs are created using small shaped pieces of glass to create beautiful glass patterns. These patterns can be supplied as single or double glazed glass for windows and doors. There are hundreds of stock patterns to choose from to create unique panels. With the addition of diamonds, squares, rectangles and tear drops, the design limitations are truly endless. Bevelled glass is one of the most popular forms of decorative glass today and we create stuning glass panels for customers around the UK and the world.
