Paul has a furniture restoration and furniture commission business with over 30 years of experience and a portfolio of beautiful furniture pieces, with satisfied customers throughout Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties. Paul works on many restoration projects for modern and antique pieces, including French polishing, and bespoke commissions from contemporary to period pieces and Japanese inspired furniture. As well as having private clients Paul has completed work for the Oxford University, Radcliffe Camera building and Bodleian Library in Oxford.
Following the initial enquiry Paul likes to visit the client to see where the intended piece of furniture is to be placed. This is useful in understanding not only the purpose of the piece but also the size and the surroundings it is to be placed within. It can then be designed to naturally fit in, as well as be made from complementary materials to its intended surroundings. Once a full understanding for the piece of furniture is known Paul prepares designs with intended materials to be used and an estimated cost, as well as answering any questions you may have.
Paul offers a french polishing service for a wide range of furniture including pianos. A visit to the client is arranged to view the item and take photographs to enable a thorough estimate and a proposal to complete the work. Paul works closely with both insurance companies and loss-adjusters and can help in preparing a report including valuations and photographs. Pauls french polishing services covers a wide range of furntiure and examples can be seen in the Gallery. Paul is able to work to suit the clients' budget and requirements whilst not forgetting the history and attachment to the item to be repaired.
