A J Wells & Sons Ltd, manufacturers of Charnwood Stoves, was founded in 1972 and is a privately owned, family controlled, British company that specialises in the design and manufacture of high quality wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. These are just some of the ways we choose to make what we do as environmentally friendly as possible.
We're proud to offer an extensive range of stoves, including both room heating stoves and boiler stoves. We also offer stove accessories to enhance the performance of your chosen stove. From the modern contemporary Aire, designed for wood burning and The Country Living Bembridge, made exclusively for Country Living magazine, through to the revolutionary new multi-fuel Skye, there's something for everyone. When choosing the right stove for your home, there are a number of factors to consider. Our Stove Calculator uses the dimensions of your room to provide an initial guide for selecting an appliance based on an outside temperature of -1°C.
When purchased through an official, authorised stockist and registered using the code given by them the bodies of our stoves will be covered by a 10 year dealer-backed guarantee (or 3 years in the case of boiler stoves). Additionally we offer a 1 year no-quibble guarantee for all consumables. This includes glass, fire bricks and rope seals. For stoves not registered using the code a standard 1 year guarantee is available, which does not include consumables. Speak to your stockist for further details and terms and conditions.
We offer a great range of stoves to suite any home. All of our stoves have acquired an excellent reputation over the years having been installed in tens of thousands of homes across the globe. Get the most out of your stove with our range of accessories. The Charnwood Cooking Plate and Toasting Fork will allow you to cook round your stove, while our Bodj Fairtrade Products offer a stylish, responsible place to store your wood and kindling. And, if you want to make your stove a real focal point, our British-made VLAZE enamel panels provide the perfect solution.
As the oldest British manufacturer of wood burning stoves, run by second and third generations of the family, we are dedicated to providing products ofenduringdesign and of the highest quality. It all started in 1972, when Alfred Wells and two of his sons, started a small engineering business in Niton on the Isle of Wight. Over the last forty years we have grown from our original small factory of around 1500 sq. We have always been keen to provide local employment on the Isle of Wight and have seen the number of our employees rise from the original 3 to well over 150.
Our Live Fire app is an exciting augmented reality platform allows you to place a stove in your living room and walk around it to see how it fits in the space and style of your interior. Experiment with different colour and stand options and then walk around your chosen stove so you can see it from different angles. You can even take screen shots to email or share online. Just place the 'tag' in the space where you would like to install the stove, frame it with your smartphone or tablet and then select your stove.

Importers of pumice chimney. As one of the longest established stove companies, we seized the opportunity to import this range of exceptional pumice chimney as it is ideally suited for stoves in both new build and re-lining situations.
we bought a C5 for our 3 bed bungalow 3years ago, and found it heated the whole bungalow it was very good until we came to change the fire bricks, there is a nut at the back of the stove that had to be removed, and there was not enough room between the stove and the back of the chimney breast to get to the nut undone, fortunately the dealer came out and moved the stove forward so we could change the fire bricks, so if anybody buy's one of these make sure you can get your arm and a spanner on the back nut. other than that BRILLiANT
