Rathmell Archaeology provides commercial archaeological and heritage consultancy services to developers and their agents, land managers, civil engineers, heritage authorities and local government departments across Scotland. With a strong graduate workforce collectively providing an extensive range of knowledge and specialist expertise, we are able to apply academic rigour to a commercial setting, maintaining a fine balance between the need for profitable development and archaeological preservation.

The drive for improved levels of renewable electricity and heat generation is a key strand of climate change mitigation as we move to a low carbon society. Indeed within Scotland it is government policy to generate the equivalent of 100% of gross annual electricity consumption by renewable means by 2020. We are working with a number of renewable energy consultancies, such as Sgurr Energy, to deliver heritage advice in the early planning stages of their client's projects to ensure that the highest levels of environmental protection can be sustained.

Rathmell Archaeolgy did an excellent job for Kilwinning Community Archaeology Project in 2010 & 2011.

What's new?

In light of the recent advice from government and health experts regarding COVID-19 we have decided to change some of our working practices during the current situation.
