BAR Preservation are structural repair and preservation specialists providing surveys and work for both domestic and commercial clients throughout Manchester and the Northwest. Our head office based in Manchester provides service to the whole of Greater Manchester, including Stockport, Cheshire, Bolton and Oldham to name a few. Directors and employees of BAR Preservation have been offering their expertise in damp proofing, timber preservation and structural repairs since 1994. We are full members of the Property Care Association (PCA) and all of our Surveyors and Technicians are fully trained and qualified in their specialist fields.

All of our technicians have formal NVQ qualifications in their specialist fields and hold CSCS cards. All our Surveyors are formally qualified in the identification of dampness, timber infestation and decay along with other individual qualifications such as degree qualifications. Our most recent Surveyor, Mr John Longdin, achieved the PCA 'Student Of The Year' accolade in 2010' for achieving the highest marks of any delegate during that year. And as full members of the Property Care Association (PCA), incorporating the British Wood Preservation and Damp proofing Association (BWPDA) and the Wall Tie Installers Federation you can rely on our expertise, as well as having the peace of mind of a guarantee.

Our wide experience in repairing structural defects extends to all types of property. Our service includes structural strapping, roof triangulation and lateral restraint anchors, masonry reinforcement and remedial lintel repair. If you choose BAR Preservation then your greatest assurance is our willingness to have our work independently supervised by a building surveyor or structural engineer. BAR Preservation has earned a reputation for good quality work, using high quality materials and as a result is recommended by many structural engineering practices, building surveyors and architects.

Our homes and all other types of buildings which were constructed using timber for floors, wall and roof structures are susceptible to attack from decay and infestation under certain circumstances. The most common problems we find in our homes and buildings are due to wet rot and dry rot often triggered by a defect, poor design or a lack of maintenance. Our surveyors have the specific qualifications, skills and experience to inspect and rectify timber decay; they are all Certified Surveyors for Remedial Treatments (CSRT).

BAR Preservation provide damp proof specialist surveys and strategic repairs to homes & buildings with damp problems. Our surveyors have the specific qualifications, skills and experience to inspect and rectify all forms of damp; they are all Certified Surveyors for Remedial Treatments (CSRT). A qualified Surveyor will visit your property to carry out a full damp survey and undertake an extensive investigation into the cause of dampness within the building. Once the problem(s) have been identified our Surveyor will provide a full written report listing the defects, explaining the recommended repairs required and providing a cost for our trained specialist technicians to carry out the work.

BAR Preservation is a specialist in the field of below-ground waterproofing; regularly converting old damp spaces beneath people's homes into spacious dry environments - creating bedrooms with en-suites, play rooms, games rooms and offices or simply dry usable storage space. Our specialist basement surveyors hold the CSSW qualification and can advise you on design, layout, building control issues and are available to answer all your basement conversion questions. The BAR basement conversion team will take full control of your project from inception through to design, onto construction and finishing detail.
