Dry Rot - Dry rot is the worst type of timber decay. It is a fungus that destroys the wood and eventually reduces it to a dry and crumbly consistency. It can grow rapidly through a building and is difficult to control. It can spread behind plaster and through walls and can even grow into neighbouring properties. To treat dry rot we eliminate the source of moisture then remove all the decayed wood and damaged plaster. We remove the visible and accessible fungal growth. A fungicide chemical treatment is then painted or sprayed onto the remaining timber and brickwork.
