Employing around 100 people, we specialise in telecommunications, building services and systems infrastructure. We predominantly operate in the UK rail industry but also serve other transport sectors such as airports and roads. We provide design and other professional services through a consulting engineering division and turnkey projects through a construction division. We are pleased to announce we have completed 1.5 million hours of work without reporting a RIDDOR accident or occurrence. Fourway partnered with Amey to develop a comprehensive picture of existing asset information to support the Capacity Enhancement Programme.

Our team has 25 years' experience in station and railway engineering. We deliver change into complex construction environments and asset renewal programmes the length and breadth of Britain. Our range of consulting engineering and construction services enable us to add value at different stages of the project cycle whether it be project development, feasibility, design or final delivery. Renewable technology, energy conservation and sustainability are at the forefront of modern railway design. Fully embracing these principles our team have expertise in all aspects of electrical and mechanical design required for both surface and underground railway environments. We undertake load modelling and design power distribution systems. These include dual supply arrangements, standby systems and earthing & bonding strategies for AC and DC environments. We cover lighting and lighting control systems for depots, stations, tunnel and trackside locations.

Our Consulting Engineering division provides professional services for telecommunications, building services and associated railway systems. Our predominant service is design. Through our technical disciplines we aim to deliver the highest possible standard of RIBA or GRIP stages incorporating the principles of CDM, sustainability and whole life cost. Driving down construction cost is always the focus. We innovate and add value at every stage but particularly early on in the project life cycle. Other technical services include strategy & feasibility, design management, technical assurance, product or system evaluation and expert witness.

Through our construction division we contract with end-clients and large civil or M&E contractors to deliver packages of building services, telecommunications and other systems infrastructure across the UK overground and underground rail networks. We work in complex, heavy construction environments where the operational railway and travelling public come first every time. This drives our focus on planning, recruiting, training and project management. Our approach is to provide an engineering led, collaborative service.

Fourway delivered LV supplies, depot lighting and SISS systems in partnership with T Clarke for this important project. The works increased the capability of the Silwood Sidings site in South East London as an operational railway facility for the stabling of ten 5-car train units. Fourway delivered the MEP and SISS package for Kings Cross Southern Square project the final transformation of the Regeneration Programme. We worked closely with our client J. Murphy to integrate our construction works into the overall programme ensuring minimal disruption to the public.

We undertake building services projects either as design and build or installation only. We cover electrical distribution networks, lighting and lighting control systems, small power, temporary lighting & power, building management systems, fire detection and suppression systems, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, hot and cold water systems to name but a few. We deliver these services to the exacting requirements of the rail environment, whether it be Network Rail, London Underground or a light railway.
