Rodents, including squirrels - three visits. Bed bugs and cockroaches - minimum of three visits. Wasps and hornets one visit only required. Fleas, flies, ants and woodlice - typically one visit. Moths and spiders are surveyed and customer advised as to likelihood of repeats being necessary. We also provide a weed control service for residential properties in Eastbourne and also throughout East Sussex and West Sussex.
Recent cases have involved rats taking refuge under garden decking (drawn in by bird food again) and many instances of wasps, bees (certain types) and hornets. The various houses, particularly those with hung tile elevations provide many cases of wasp nests each year requiring some dexterity and a willingness to work at height. Modern insecticides are very effective once accuracy is obtained by the pest controller. Like many areas the surrounds of Haywards Heath have had a good number of hornets over the years.
Many years ago before I started to work independently, Heathfield was a regular area I covered whilst working for a small company. I've worked in it and driven through it ever since. An old abandoned chest of drawers with a drawer or two slightly open within a greenhouse once provided a large colony of wasps that had deterred the owner from any hope of getting into the greenhouse and not much chance of enjoying the garden. A calm approach, wearing the correct protective clothing and application of a suitable chemical soon brought things back to normal.
Lewes is an old market town and the county town of East Sussex, formerly of all Sussex found within the boundaries of the South Downs National Park. Lewes has provided many pest control call outs over the years. Old property renovations have uncovered various pests and many seasonal occurrences of wasps have been dealt with in the town and the surrounding villages. On one recent occasion in Lewes a faulty, broken air-brick obscured by overgrown vegetation had provided an entry point for rats, once in the fabric of the building they had moved about freely.
The seaside resort of Hastings has a good amount of industrial estates as well as a varied range of property's both residential and commercial based. Hastings town has provided a lot of work over the years in particular the upsurge in reports of moth infestations. The damage caused to carpets and clothes is costly and an infestation is not likely to be eradicated with a couple of cans of shop bought aerosols. Some time ago a fairly large property in Hastings had need of our services for just such a problem.
Chichester, the county town of West Sussex has provided a great deal of varied call-outs over the years and has been the site of a large amount of woodworm infestations. More commonplace pests include the fairly harmless ‘silverfish' found often in bathrooms which cause some distress to a few people. A recent case here saw me applying a residual based insecticide in the bathroom area and control was very quick to obtain. A nearby sports pavilion was once treated by me for a serious infestation of mice.
