Eden Garden Design aims to improve your surroundings - to enable you to enjoy your garden and make the best use of its space. Whatever the size of your garden it should enhance your quality of life, and provide a place to unwind after that busy day. When you step outside it should be a pleasure - a place you do not want to leave, where there is always something to see, smell and touch. This can be done by creating a balance between the house and garden, by changing shapes and making focal points, which draw the eye and entice you to explore or relax.
I have always been fascinated by nature and the beauty which is all around us in the birds, animals, insects, plants and sky. My interest in plants and flowers grew during twenty years in Kenya, where I took up botanical watercolour painting. On my return to England in 1989, when we acquired our own property, gardening became my main interest, followed by garden design. After completing a correspondence course with the Institute of Garden Design in Bristol, I then took a City and Guilds course in garden design at the Abingdon and Witney College near Oxford.
