If you want to grab yourself a bargain and are happy with solar lights that are designed for summer use then our budget range is ideal. The lights you see here will work well in summer so long as they are in a clear unshaded location, but we do not recommend these products for winter use and do not guarantee poor weather performance.

In summer the UK gets an average of 7 sun hours a day, but this drops to just 1 or 2 sun hours in deepest winter. This means that a typical solar light from the big DIY stores will usually work for less than an hour a night in winter even though it might deliver 8 hours a night in summer.
