We are an interior design practice based in Moseley, the Arts & Crafts capital of Birmingham. We have a passion and respect for quality craftsmanship, materials and original features. Our interiors are well laid out; proportion is so important. Our interiors are uplifting, colourful and full of interesting textures and shapes. Our designs are classic, often with Mid-century features. We appreciate the work of traditionally trained artisans and always pay close attention to detail. Most of our work involves some element of structural alterations and often the entire remodelling of a space.
Davies-Hobbs Designs Ltd was set up in 2008 by Claire Davies-Hobbs BA(Hons). After 18 years working as a series producer and director in television, making programmes about house building, interiors, antiques and furniture, she wanted to devote more time to sharing with others her passions for both contemporary design and design history. Davies-Hobbs Designs Ltd is passionate about GOOD design and quality craftsmanship, and believe the best design solutions come from experience. Our clients are mostly private individuals, extending or refurbishing their homes, and for whom we create clever interior architecture with stylish decorative schemes.
Our Creative Director Claire loves bringing sunlight into a property and a view of the garden as soon as you enter; she hates over-extended houses and grey upvc windows! Claire has a BA (Hons) in Design History and spent 18 years making TV programmes for the BBC, C4 and Discovery Channels. She has also worked as an antiques consultant and studied furniture restoration. Claire is a member of The 20th Century Society, The Georgian Group and is passionate about all things Midcentury. Interiors and Textiles consultant Louise is passionate about textiles.
