There's nothing quite like having a wood burning stove to heat your living room on a cold winters' night. It can change the ambience of the room and can be the centrepiece of your home. Wood burners look fantastic and are extremely energy efficient. Some wood burners, in fact, offer up to 85% efficiency, meaning the majority of the heat being produced will be circulated around the room rather than lost up the chimney. At Vale Chimneys, we tailor each wood stove or multi fuel stove installation to suit the customers' needs, expectations, and budgetary requirements.

This helps to remove the soot, tar and creosote that forms when you burn wood and coal in your open fire or stove. It can also help your flue draw more effectively by making sure there is a clear passageway for the smoke produced during combustion to evacuate out of the top of your chimney. Vale Chimneys is accredited by the Institute of Chimney Sweeps and issues certification after every chimney sweep (in the event of a fire, some insurance companies require a copy of the certificate to prove that the chimney has been regularly maintained by a professionally trained sweep).

If you've read any misleading headlines about the ban of wood burning stoves, please note this is NOT the case. There are NO impending plans to ban wood burning stoves. There are, however, a number of key points which have been identified by the Environment Secretary as part of the Clean Air.

Before lighting your fire for the first time this Autumn/ Winter, please remember the importance of having your chimney swept to ensure any soot and birds nests are removed and that the flue is in a safe condition to use. This picture is looking down an external twin wall flue. We swept the chimney.
