In a Gable Conservatory the roof doesn't slope at the front but is upright and forms a triangle shape. A gable-end of a house is where the two slopes of a roof and wall meet forming a triangle shape at the top, hence this is where this conservatory got its name. Like the Georgian conservatory this is square or rectangular in shape and maximizes your internal living space. The tilt and turn windows have an inward opening window with both a side and bottom-hung function allowing for greater ventilation and ease of cleaning. To place the window in the tilt action state you would turn the handle 180 degrees. The idea from Renaissance Italy was to build an extension, often a grand walk-way to house beautiful works of art.
