The Cambridge Conservatory Centre has been designing and building Conservatories, Orangeries and Garden Rooms for over 30 years. But that doesn't mean we're old fashioned - it means we're experienced! Based at the Scotsdales Garden Centre in Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire, our show site is open 7 days a week and we are always on hand to have a chat or to arrange a visit to discuss how a new room will add value to your home and to your life. We are delighted with the finished building and it has been an absolute pleasure working with Cambridge Conservatory Centre.
A home extension is one of the best ways to add more space to your home and improve your lifestyle. And in these days of high functioning, thermally efficient materials, there are a myriad of options. Traditional build home extensions often compromise the amount of natural light in existing rooms, but that's where we come in. We combine everything we've learned from over 30 years of conservatory, orangery and loft conversion building experience to design and build a home extension without compromise.
My local Team Guardian Installer replaced my existing conservatory roof with a new Guardian Warm Roof. The result is spectacular, with a room that provides warm coziness in winter and cool ambient temperatures even on the hottest summer day. The team were terrific, completing the job in just 4 days. They left my home spotless and a very satisfied customer behind. No wonder the Guardian Warm Roof is by far the Market Leader. Only since October 2010, has it been officially possible to put a solid roof onto a conservatory or porch.
When you're looking for more space without the need for a home extension, a loft extension is the perfect solution. Most English houses have ‘hidden' space that can be converted to a bedroom, bathroom, study/office or bonus living space. Our in-house architect can work with you to convert your loft into the perfect space to suit your needs. We handle all aspects of planning, construction and project management so you can relax in the knowledge that your loft conversion will be handled with professionalism and care.
They say ‘windows are the eyes to the house' and certainly they are the way we connect to our wider environment. But windows can also be the way that the outer environment impacts our comfort and enjoyment of our interior spaces. If your windows are leaking heat and driving up the costs of your bills, then replacement windows could be the perfect solution. With access to a wide range of windows, from traditional to contemporary, we can help guide and advise you to the perfect choice for your home.
Why choose Sliding Doors instead of Bifolding Doors you might ask? They both open up your rooms to the outside after all. One reason you may decide to install sliding doors is that there is no impact on your indoor or outdoor spaces. Sliding Doors slide within the width of the wall rather than opening inwards or outwards as folding doors do. They are also designed for ease of use with heavy duty rollers and sliding mechanisms that give the illusion of weightlessness. Sliding Doors are configured to suit your needs and are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 leaf options in a choice of standard or non-standard colours including metallic, wood-structure, dual colour and a range of textured finishes.
Now we want light, bright spaces that connect us to the world outside the walls of our homes. Whether you want to enjoy your immediate garden or an expansive view beyond the back fence, there's nothing like a set of Bi-Folding Doors to blur the lines between inside and outside. Advanced technology allows us to almost magically disappear the barriers between our rooms and our gardens beyond with the use of folding doors. Although the thermally double glazed doors are heavy, the use of perfectly balanced hingeing, locking and tracking systems enables modern folding doors to be opened and closed with ease.
When Chef Daniel Clifford was looking to refurbish his two Michelin star restaurant, Midsummer House, he engaged the Cambridge Conservatory Centre. The premises had an existing double bay fronted conservatory but it was in need of a rebuild. He also needed to replace all the existing sash windows. It made sense to choose one supplier who could handle the entire refurbishment. We started with Phase One which was to replace all the existing sash windows in the entire restaurant. The difference this made to the comfort and pleasure of Daniels customers was immediate.
Many older houses throughout the UK have somewhat dark enclosed spaces that don't work well for modern living. These days we want to feel connected to the outdoors, to enjoy our gardens from inside our homes as well as have the flexibility to open our living spaces and flow seamlessly between inside and out. There's just something about flooding your spaces with light that makes you feel good and the great news is you don't always need to build a new Conservatory, Orangery or Garden room to achieve the lifestyle you're hoping for.
We've been building conservatories and orangeries in Cambridge and surrounding areas for over 30 years and in that time we've seen many changes in design, technology and lifestyle. Our completely bespoke service gives you the opportunity to work with our in house architect to design a space that is perfect for you. We can handle all aspects of your new conservatory or orangery including planning approval, building consent and construction. A full project management service comes as standard so you don't need to worry about a thing!
Modern Garden Rooms are a combination of the traditional conservatory and a modern extension. With a solid roof, skylights, multiple windows and doors which either fold or slide back to open up entire walls, these spaces are a perfect way to add extra space and light to your home. Built to match or compliment the style of your home, garden rooms are often used to blur the lines between home and garden while offering living spaces that feel like part of the main house. Large openings between existing spaces and a new garden room provide continuity while offering a seamless connection to the garden.
Conservatories and Orangeries have been a part of our homes for generations. There's nothing quite like sitting in a light filled space that connects you to your garden. Thankfully, like all good things, Conservatories and Orangeries have evolved from once draughty spaces that although beautiful, were often impractical in the English weather. Now these fabulous spaces are designed to be enjoyed year round adding value to your living as well as to your property. With over 30 years of experience designing and building Conservatories and Orangeries in Cambridgeshire and surrounds, the Cambridge Conservatory Centre knows exactly what it takes to create a practical yet beautifully detailed space to compliment your home.
All over Britain, conservatories that were added to homes in the 1980's are used as storage spaces or languishing unloved and unused. Due to outdated materials, these conservatories just don't meet the grade when it comes to modern day living as they are too cold in winter and too hot in summer. And in many cases, as time has moved on, these conservatories have become a burden rather than a benefit. Thankfully new conservatories are designed specifically for the British climate and provide wonderful living spaces no matter what the weather.
It's the perfect place to make a statement, to step out of the box and use a splash of colour to ensure your home stands out from the rest. And not only that. The latest in construction and security technology goes into each and every door to give you peace of mind that you and your home are protected. Eliminate draughts and save yourself money by replacing your existing front door with a new composite, uPVC or Aluminium one that will transform the look and feel of your home. Composite doors are made up from a variety of materials, including PVC, wood, insulating foam and GRP (glass reinforced plastic).

With Grade II listed status, adding an extension to this Shepreth property was not going to be straightforward. The challenge with any project like this is to balance the needs of the owners with the planning authority guidelines.

Turn your existing conservatory into a room that provides year round comfort by replacing your glass roof with a lightweight solid roof. In as little as three days, your conservatory can go from cold and draughty to warm and snug for a fraction of the cost of a new room.
