As a responsible tree owner, you have a legal duty to ensure that your trees are in safe condition, to ensure any forseeable damage does not occur to people or property. In order to do this, a report may be required to assess the condtion of your trees. Some mortgage lenders or building insurers may also request a report, if trees are located within the property or on the property boundary. A full tree report will include a walk around assessment of all trees on site. All trees will then be recorded onto a site location plan, with details recorded including size, condition based on visual assesment and any required tree surgery.
There are few reasons for getting rid of a stump, the most obvious being aesthetics. It may also be in the way of where you wish to install your new patio or driveway, or purely for safety reasons. Occasionally if a dead stump is left in the ground it can play host to root diseases such as Honey Fungus. If the stump is still alive, then new shoots may arise from the trunk and root system. We have specialist equipment available for the removal of even the most difficult stump, including narrow access grinders, for reaching tricky places.

Tree pruning is the term used for the removal of parts of a tree. This would include removing branches, twigs, limbs, soft growth or even root systems. There are various reasons why your tree would require pruning, whether it be to make the tree safe, overhang could be affecting access routes, or simply aesthetic reasons and allowing extra light into your garden. The aim of Formative Pruning is to encourage a young tree's structure to form into an appearance typical to that specific species of tree.
Whenever we can, we will always offer the opportunity to have a new tree planted. Sometimes this is a requirement under conditions set via your local planning authority if we are felling a protected tree. Councils will usually advice suggested replacement species of trees, however if your replacement tree is not a council requirement then the choice is yours! We can however, recommend a suitable tree to be planted to suit your property and purpose. At Dickinson Tree Company we can cover all aspects of the process, assessing the site, sourcing the tree and planting it for you.
