Current owner Jim Hewlett stared Hewlett Turf and Landscapes in 1987 as a small scale one-man-band. Within a few years the business grew to become a small team providing landscaping services around the Salisbury area. As the landscaping team expanded Jim decided to start to grow his own lawn turf locally and by 1995 the company was growing and harvesting its own lawn turf to supply other local landscapers and general public with good quality lawn turf.
