The Leak Team UK, offer Leak Detection and Water Leak Detection Services. Andrew and Charlie Slater own the company and between them have 40 years' experience in the building industry. Over 20 of these years have been spent specifically working with insurers on leak detection and water damage. We therefore come equipped with a thorough knowledge of the construction of different types of properties. Furthermore we understand the effect that can have on leak detection and dealing with the results of a leak.

To inspect a drain with our CCTV drain survey video camera is simple, quick and straight forward. Our surveyor can show you the colour images in real time explaining what is being seen and then if required provide you with electronic video clips or still photos. This is especially useful if you need to provide evidence to neighbours or your insurance company. Once we can see the problem, then it can be fixed, usually without digging up the drain or damaging you property. Our drain lining system places a new pipe or section of pipe within an existing damaged pipe without the need for excavation and is suitable for repairs to sewers as well as rainwater down pipes etc.

Do you have underfloor heating? Are you losing pressure on your central heating system. It may be a leak on the under floor heating that is causing the loss of pressure on the heating system. Under floor heating systems can usually be isolated from the main system heating system. To check if the under floor heating is leaking isolate the manifold from the rest of your property's heating system and monitor the pressure. If there is no pressure loss, then the leak is on the under floor heating. Open the isolation valves and check the pressure drops, it is always worth repeating the process a few time to confirm the leak is on the under floor heating.

Is your boiler losing pressure? The leak might be inside your boiler. Even when there is no evidence of physical water, the leak can still be inside the boiler. The leak may be evaporating due to the heat or the heat exchanger may be damaged and leaking. There is a simple test. Get your plumber to pressurise the heating system and then isolate the boiler for at least 12 hours, preferably 24 hours. If the gauge is on the heating pipes then the opposite is true: no pressure loss suggests the boiler has a leak.

If you don't know where to start or want to talk through your situation, give The Leak Team a call on 0800 464 0330 we will always give free and helpful advice over the phone. The information below may help you pin point the leak without having to call us out, or you can find more usefulFree Advice Articles here. When they suspect a hidden leak, most people, in the first instance, turn to their plumber or a plumber they have found by recommendation or on the internet. The plumber comes out checks what he/she can and if no leak is found, tells you that you have a leak on your heating pipes or water supply pipes, gives you a bill and walks away.

A leak on a mains supply pipe may run undetected for some time. It may only be discovered when you get a large water bill, damage to your property or a depression in the ground. Damp and boggy areas in your garden or salts showing on the brickwork below the DPC level can also indicate a leaking mains pipe. Inside your property a leak to the cold or hot water pipes may cause a damp patch, an audible sound, constant running of the water meter or the header tank continually filling. Traditionally these leaks would be found by destructive means, starting at an area based on an educated guess and progressing along the line of the pipes.

Do you know if your heating is working efficiently? Could you be wasting money on your heating bills by running a sludged up central heating system and putting your boiler at risk? If your system is old or even if it has been installed relatively recently, but without enough of the necessary rust inhibitors, dirt and sludge can build up in radiators, pipes and even your boiler. Over time corrosion within the pipes and radiators produces black sludge which causes blockages in pipes and a build up in radiators.

Excellent service with prompt location of a leak. Definately recommend this company.

Charlie explained the service and terms very clearly. Andrew arrived in good time after a very long journey, ready to start work. He followed a very thorough set of processes, explaining every step and even making a repair necessary to allow him to complete the job effectively. He found the leak and clearly explained our options, including all the information necessary for our insurance claim in his report. He also pointed out a few items that may need attention. I feel confident that we can make the best choice for the way forward. A great service from start to finish.

We were 100% satisfied with this service. We had an unidentified loss of over 200l of water per hour on a large property which was pinpointed accurately and swiftly, enabling us to minimise the disruption of fixing the leak and to do so far more quickly than we'd anticipated. We had total confidence in the advice given. Our insurer was happy to cover the cost of this service and noted the value of the report provided, which ultimately reduced the cost of the claim.

What's new?

Great service, fair price. We have two small kids and suddenly had no heating or hot water due to lost boiler pressure, the plumber surmised due to a leak under the house 'somewhere' I live local and the leak team were round within an hour of me calling. We were worried sick thinking we'd have to.
