The cause of rising damp in homes is the lack of or breakdown of an adequate damp proof course. If left unchecked, rising damp can cause damage to brick, concrete and wood structures, and cause wet rot and the dreaded dry rot. We first create a series of horizontal drill holes along the mortar course. Typically these holes are 12 mm in diameter and drilled at 120 mm intervals. Then we insert a nozzle into the first drilled hole, and then inject the DPC cream while withdrawing the nozzle at a steady rate.
