Empire Glass and Glazing Limited are one of London's leading glazing contractors assisting customers daily across the world greatest city. In the world of glazing contractors there's not much we can't help with whether it be glass, glass hardware or related items. We are true masters of our craft standing ready to assist with basic repairs and decorative items through to larger complex projects. Our customers are as diverse as our work load ranging from domestic, commercial and construction through to hotels, FM/BM providers, fit out companies and the rail industry.
Secondary glazing is an excellent product that works wonders when looking to improve both the acoustic and thermal performance of any building or room when replacement windows are not an option. Secondary glazing is best suited when improvements need to be made to the existing windows thermal and/or acoustic performance without altering the internal or external appearance of a building or room, such as but not limited to, period properties, conservation areas or steel windows which look great but offer poor acoustic and thermal insulation.
A large part of our workload is the repair of double glazed windows and doors weather it's the double glazed units themselves, hardware or a combination of both, we can help. We operate a dedicated van that carries a wide range of the most common hardware for Upvc, aluminium and timber windows and doors. We can supply and install a massive range of hardware from handles in all styles and finishes, locking mechanisms, friction stays (hinges), window restrictors, window gaskets, trickle vents and additional security.
At Empire we undertake works not just involving glass but also specialist plastic products such as polycarbonate, acrylic and multiwall sheeting. The Johanna School project is just one example of what would be defined as a special project which can be viewed in the gallery. At The Johanna School we replaced double glazed units that were continually being broken due to vandalism and replaced them with a virtually unbreakable multiwall plastic product. An important factor to consider is that even though glass double glazed units were replaced for a multiwall plastic product there was no impact on the thermal efficiency or light transfer despite the marked difference in products, in short, the buildings thermal performance remained unchanged after the work.
At Empire, we carry out everything mirror related from a single replacement mirror for a domestic customer on a Saturday morning, installing 100no. Mirrors on a building site through to the installation of a large sectional mirrored wall in a department store overnight, as you can see and with regards to mirrors, there's not much we don't know, supply or install. The range of products and processes we provide is wide and varied when taking into consideration thickness and tints when combined with the range of applied processes such as edge polishing, bevelling, drilling, sandblasting, acid decoration and back spraying to any BS or RAL colour.
