Established in 2008, Igloo Architecture was founded by Paul Crompton and Mark Lister who run the practice, who have a combined experience in architecture of 40 years. They have gained a reputation for client commitment, delivery and a passion for creative and responsible architecture. The two founding directors have often been described as 'like chalk and cheese' but the fusion of two very different personalities and sets of skills has resulted in a uniquely innovative approach to the delivery of architectural services.

To an architect the prospect of designing a new luxury house is like an artist being handed a blank canvas. There are infinite possibilities at the outset but they must soon give way to the rigorous and informed process of actual design. In this case the client wanted to achieve a visionary contemporary house with light airy spaces which combined the right balance between closed rooms and areas of open plan. Because of the need to screen the proposed building from neighbouring properties and maintain privacy, the best way to organise the site soon became apparent.
