Power Flushing is a method of internally cleaning your central heating system using specialist equipment and chemicals. Tara will usually add an inhibitor as the final process of power flushing, to slow down further corrosion. Power Flushing is not a panacea to cure all problems and it is time consuming. Customers can be surprised, it can seem quite expensive for a fairly simple operation which might not resolve your heating problems. It would be best to discuss your problems with us to decide whether power flushing could be part of the solution.
NOTE: If your boiler is not working you need to book for a repair NOT a service. Boilers must be working in order to be serviced and a repair will require a longer time slot. A boiler service, or central heating system performance test, makes sure the boiler is working safely and efficiently. You generally have a car serviced at least once a year and more often than that if you do a lot of miles. Your boiler will be providing heating for many months and hot water all year round. Manufacturers usually recommend that it is serviced once a year, details are in the owners manual.
We only attend to boilers which we have installed. Unfortunately, if your boiler has broken down and you are hoping to get it repaired we do not offer this service to the general public. The first point of contact should be the heating company who installed your boiler, who serviced it last or who last worked on it. If they are unavailable then contact the manufacturer. If your boiler is more than 10 years old you will have to compare the cost of repairs against the cost of a replacement, particularly if your boiler is a very inefficient model.
You will have Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) on some of your radiators, this enables you to control the heating in individual rooms. We install quality boilers of well known (long established) brands including Worcester, Ideal, Baxi and Potterton. Warranties of 5 or 7 years are typical for new boilers.
