Our exciting business in the heart of Pocklington originally launched as a modest little market stall in Brigg, back in 1998. Here we are today, still going strong and loving every minute of it! For Grandad's Shed is much more than a business. Our two storey building offers rooms with different inspirational themes - from the Library-Office room, to a ladies boutique and Country kitchen. Grandad's Shed sells a variety of country themed furniture and home accessories. For over 20-years our passion for design and craftsmanship has been at the heart of everything at Grandads Shed.

We design and create superb handmade curtains and blinds. Every order is completely bespoke and we take the time to help you decide on your styling and fabric choice. We work closely with a highly professional seamstress who specialises in quality handmade curtains and blinds. View some of our made-to-measure curtains and blinds. All our curtains are lined or interlined in standard or blackout with a trimming inset into the leading edge. They are all hand headed with soft double or triple pleating.

The humble sofa is a place where families gather at the end of the day. It forms the centre of your home, providing a place to escape, a place to laugh, cry, entertain and relax. We believe that people should be given the option to make their furniture as unique as their family and give your special piece a vibrant new lease of life. This customer had an old red sofa that no longer worked with the new colours of their living room. We picked out colours that would compliment from their wallpaper, reupholstered the sofas and gave them new, plump foam inners.

I hope to make good design accessible to all. As both an Interior designer and owner of Grandad's Shed, I am offering consultationwhich will give customers the kick startconfidence to create fabuloushomes within their own budget. I was a young teenager when I had my first real taste of interior design. I was babysitting for a couple and would often stay overnight, so they suggested I decorate the room I stayed in to make it feel like home. I bought piles of fabrics which I turned into soft furnishings; experimented with colour schemes and 'devoured' home-style magazines looking for ideas and inspiration.
