Unlike a millworker or joiner, the Luke Hughes team are custom furniture designers who design world class furniture in a combination of materials. So, while the majority of our work does contain timbers, we have significant expertise in other materials. Whether it's oiled bronze for an Ark of the Covenant, stainless steel for a research lab, bronze, glass, marble or stone for a church, we know how to design, detail, manufacture and produce with it. With this we have developed specialist skills in the design and production of original lighting and integrate power and data, correctly specified for the destination country, into most of our pieces.
We specialise in taking on entire projects where our ability to design and engineer versatile, flexible furniture helps keep notable buildings and their architecture relevant for decades and generations to come. From the restaurants of a tech giant in New York's Soho, to the complete re-ordering of a soaring Gothic cathedral, we design Furniture in Architecture. While most of our furniture in architecture projects include an element of custom furniture design, many use our tailored furniture to provide efficient and cost effective solutions engineered to last decades.
Luke Hughes design custom furniture that introduces versatility and flexibility to notable buildings. While much of our work is custom furniture, we also offer standard ranges of stackable furniture, notably stacking chairs stacking chairs and stacking benches and folding tables. If you need to specify built custom design furniture for a project, we take on the task of designing all the custom furniture and our standard furniture so that it suits perfectly with the architecture of the building, the sustainability standards you are looking to achieve and the operational needs of those who have to use, move and re-set the space.
