The Odd Chair Company and Victoria James are fine furniture makers of classic, contemporary and bespoke furniture in the UK today. Established over 50 years ago, the family run business prides themselves on making the finest furniture and offering clients an exceptional service. The furniture is made passionately by time served craftsmen at their own workshops in the north west of England. They offer a design service for both Interior Designers and private clients, produced from your own drawings or maybe just an idea you have.

We have over 30 hand stained wood finish samples available on beech, utile, solid oak or solid walnut, with beech and utile being within our standard range, and for the solid oak, solid walnut, and our special gold finishes, please allow uplift costs within your order. We can also provide any paint colour finish you may like for your interior or match any stain and finish to your own furniture or sample and offer specialist water gilding and hand painted finishes too. We have an extensive collection of handmade upholstery consisting of armchairs, sofas, stools, tables and fine furniture. All of our designs are handmade in England by craftsmen who take great care and who have a true eye for detail. Our upholstery is individually tailor made to order and so you are guaranteed the highest of quality and service. Each design can be modified to suit your space requirements or we can design and make a bespoke item of furniture for you. The Online Shop contains a collection of readily available pieces found in our Belgravia showroom and also ex-display stock furniture at reduced prices. Where items are already upholstered with a fabric you may purchase as seen or we offer a recover service should you wish to select another fabric to be upholstered. Our stock can change weekly, so if you cannot see a particular design here then pleasecontact us.
