After moving the furniture, we ensured all the boards were secure and that were no big gaps. While sanding, we were careful not to damage the radiator within the room.
The Floor Sanding Experts offer the full professional service covering every stage of wood floor restoration. Restoration is the complete overhaul for floors that are damaged (as opposed to a surface renovation). Damage occurs through wear and tear, improperly fitted boards or simply boards that have excessively aged with time. We repair damaged areas by lifting the damaged floors, securing loose boards, and refitting or replacing old boards or parquet blocks - and then regluing. Wood floor sanding prepares the floors for resealing.
Before renovation, some floors may need major or minor repairs. We provide a full assessment of the work that is needed to ensure a perfect working surface for the later stages of sanding, staining and sealing. All damaged boards beyond minor repair will be replaced using reclaimed timber of the same quality and age wherever possible. Floor Sanding Experts are your choice for wood floor repairs - a friendly firm you can trust to do the best job.
Some blocks needed to be refitted and one area which needed repair was quite large. Replacing blocks meant they would be a different colour to the rest of the floor and both the sanding and lacquering process had to consider this. After relaying the loose blocks, we sanded the surface to achieve even colouring and a level surface. This also removed the previous layer of lacquer which had bubbled.
There were some gaps in the floor which needed to be fixed to ensure the sanding could be completed properly. We removed the remains of carpet from the stairs and were able to assess the damage to the wood underneath. When we could see the damage, we could then begin work to remove paint splashes and damages. The floors are now cleaner and more even, making the property more inviting as a whole. The stairs will be easier to maintain now they are not obstructed by carpet and they complement the flooring now that the colours match.
The Floor Sanding Experts don't use the outdated drum sanders that are still favoured by some competitor companies. We operate continuous belt machinery that is virtually dust-free. A mobile extraction unit follows our machines round and limits dust to virtually nothing. Some dust is inevitable, but we minimize this by masking/screening and frequent vacuuming. We also use edging sanders and fine Bosch tools to get right into the corners for complete and even sanding.

More durable than oil sealants, and easier to maintain, these products are typically used for mid to heavy traffic areas. Modern lacquers (Bona and Junckers) no longer produce the 'plastic' look of old and offer a silky sheen in a matt, satin or high gloss finish. Our recommended finish would be a polyurethane lacquer - highly resistant to wear but which may create some discoloration to the floor beneath. As it is not a natural material, it can restrict the breathing ability of your wooden floor.
Lubo and his helper did an amazing job on our Victorian pine boards. They have transformed lifeless flooring into an amazing white piece of art. My wife is over the Moon.
Really disappointed! The preparation was good, but the job was rushed & the finish was really poor.
Alberto and his assistant have recently spent 4 days restoring our tired-looking oak floor by sanding, staining and varnishing. It had been oiled originally, and over 15 years had become badly worn (as we were not re-oiling every 6 months). We are hope the varnish finish now will be easier to care for (we paid a bit extra for use of Junkers HP Commercial varnish).
