The companies we feature in our database have agreed to give our customers discounts and offers that you wont find at any other comparison site, or even if you go directly to the conservatory suppliers.

You are advised not to construct conservatories where they will restrict escape access from first floor or second floor escape windows. If a conservatory is to be put below one of these windows a polycarbonate type access roof is recommended so that in the event of a fire a person can walk across the roof and escape. Always ask your conservatory supplier about the roof below escape windows and ensure this has been taken into account. Any new large structural opening between the conservatory and the main house will require building regulations approval, even if the conservatory itself is exempt from the building regulations.

My answer, and this is of course is only my opinion, is that you should leave enough room so that your conservatory's foundations don't protrude into your neighbours land. This would normally mean around 150mm (6 inches in old money) between the outside wall of your conservatory and the boundary line. This will then allow your neighbours to put up an extension or conservatory in the future, without the hassle of your foundations being on their land and causing future problems. Please also don't forget about guttering and drainage when planning your conservatory and try to make sure that you keep it all on your side of the boundary.
