The AECB (Association for Environment Conscious Building) is a network of individuals and companies with a common aim of promoting sustainable building. We bring together contractors, trades people, self builders, architects, designers, engineers, manufacturers, housing associations, local authorities and academics to help develop, share, train and promote sustainable building best practice. Because we want to help educate and help effect deep lasting change within the construction industry. We are part of the change to help better our lives (as well as others and the planet) & well being through comfort, health and sustainability in our homes.

Find out and search for an AECB member local to yourself, find the skills from regional companies in your area or simply just browse our membership. The AECB network brings together builders, architects, designers, manufacturers, housing associations and local authorities, to develop, share and promote best practice in environmentally sustainable building. The AECB brings you a free webinar programme ongoing throughout the year to gain knowledge and insight directly from the experts. The AECB has a number of Local Groups across the country, providing an opportunity to meet.

The AECB Building Standard is aimed at those wishing to create high-performance buildings using widely available technology at little or no extra cost. We estimate that this low-risk option will reduce overall CO2 emissions by 70% compared to the UK average for buildings of each type - a highly significant result given the relative ease and low cost with which this standard can be met. Individual self-builders and large-scale residential and non-residential developers could make a valuable contribution to low-carbon building by meeting the AECB Building Standard.
