Robert Rigby Architects is a full-service RIBA Chartered Architects Practice serving clients throughout Reading, Berkshire and the Thames Valley. Established in 1996, we offer a combination of architectural design and design development, supported by sound technical expertise across a broad spectrum of projects from extraordinary private new homes, to modern extensions and larger residential and commercial property developments. Our skill set encompasses all aspects of architecture from design, preliminary site analysis and feasibility studies, to producing technical working drawings, liaising with engineers and managing projects through to completion on site.

Purchased by a growing family, the owners of Spinney Cottage wanted to alter and extend the existing two-up, two-down footprint, to create a 4-bedroom home with a new sitting room, kitchen-dining room, bedroom and garden terrace. For this development our client, the Berkeley Group, briefed Robert Rigby Architects to design a new urban village, offering a range of highly specified one- and two-bedroom apartments in a well-established community. Our brief at Green Park Village, Reading, is to design a development of 129 self-contained, one and two-bedroom apartments in an extra care support facility, with communal areas, hair salons and rest areas for onsite care staff.

We are an RIBA Chartered Architect practice offering a full range of architect services from project inception to final account. We have ongoing working relationships with other professions including Planning Consultants, Structural Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineers, Ecology Consultants and Landscape Architects and can call upon them if and when needed.

The developer of the home asked us to become lead consultant with responsibility for obtaining building regulations approval for this magnificent conversion of an existing Victorian villa into residential apartments. Robert Rigby Architects was asked by developer Laing Homes to provide a full architectural service for a residential development of housing association houses and flats built in a traditional construction format in Reading.
