Biomass is the only practical solution when it comes to heating a property of this age and size. I wanted to move away from fossil fuels and the heat losses from a property like mine are too great for a ground source heat pump to handle. Biomass was certainly the best option for me. I've done the maths and it is a good investment with payback from day one. I am very pleased with the work done by The Wood Heating Company. The projects have both run on time and have stuck to the agreed budget. They are professional and communicate well and understand the client's needs.
Watch our video to find out more about The Wood Heating Company, the Renewable Heat Incentive, and what some of our customers have to say about us. Most of our business comes from personal recommendations from satisfied customers. The Wood Heating Company Managing Director Mike Blakeley has over 30 years of biomass experience to his name. Mike's father established a company in 1980 to install chimneys and flue systems. That company rapidly expanded into wood-burning appliances and in 1983 Mike installed his first biomass system - an automated straw bale boiler to heat a farm in County Durham.
The Wood Heating Company are heading to Manchester for the Green Deal and Eco Awards on Friday night after being shortlisted for another top award! The National Green Deal & ECO Awards were set up in 2014 following the launch of the Government's flagship energy efficiency policy, the Green Deal Finance Initiative. The aim of the National Green Deal & ECO Awards is to provide public recognition for the excellent work the sector, and to help encourage best practice within the Energy Industry. The Wood Heating Company, along with sister company IXUS Energy, which distributes boilers, has been nominated for three awards at the H&V News 2015.
A log or wood pellet boiler offers the economy of cheaper fuel prices, the convenience of full automation (for pellet systems), and the potential to recover your investment through the Renewable Heat Incentive. Wood fuel is one of the most flexible renewable energy technologies for heating. Unlike heat pumps, biomass boilers provide heat at the same temperature as your existing oil or gas boiler, so no adaptations are required to your existing distribution system to accommodate the change of heat source - your radiators, underfloor heating and hot water cylinder all remain as they are now.
Previously we have only offered access to our service packages to customers whose boilers we supplied and installed, but by popular request, we have now opened up our service offering to all.
When over 95% of biomass installers have only been around for a couple of years, and few have any real experience of servicing biomass appliances.
