Ground source heat pumps take heat from the ground, raise its temperature and use the energy to heat your property. Ground source heat pumps operate on the same refrigeration cycle principles as a domestic fridge, but use the cycle in reverse to generate spatial heating and domestic hot water. The pumps can also be used to provide spatial cooling either using a passive circuit to meet low level cooling demands or using an active circuit where cooling demands are higher. Both active and passive modes can act to partially replenish the ground array and, if both heating and cooling modes are utilised, the total annualised seasonal performance factors can be very high.

All air source heat pump systems we install are designed with an advanced controller that distributes heating and/or hot water to the property and compensates for the weather throughout the year by sensing the outside temperature and adjusting output accordingly.

Biomass boilers are heating systems that use the combustion of organic matter to provide heating and hot water. Biomass heating systems can be said to be carbon neutral because the carbon dioxide emitted when wood is burned is the same amount that was absorbed over the months and years that the plant was growing. Providing that new plants are grown in place of those cultivated for fuel the process is sustainable. There are some carbon emissions caused by the cultivation, manufacture and transportation of the fuel, but as long as the fuel is sourced locally, these are much lower than the emissions from fossil fuels.

Our Consultant Engineers will meet with you at your property to discuss your requirements and produce an initial design and estimate. Once an order has been placed the case file will be handed to the Technical Team who will contact you to undertake preliminary surveys, where required, and will advise on installation dates. The Technical Team comprises our key designers for the technologies we install from solar panels and battery storage, to air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. In addition, we normally assign a dedicated Project Manager, depending on the scale of an installation.
