Our Engineer will carry out an emergency lighting test in accordance with BS5266-1:2016 and the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996. This will include a three hour soak test. Full duration tests involve discharging batteries, so the emergency lighting system will not be fully functional until the batteries have had time to recharge. For this reason, we aim to carry out tests at times of minimal risk, or only test alternate luminaires at any one time. Please note, the inspecting engineer should satisfy themselves with a walk round the premises under test conditions to check that all luminaires operate correctly and that signs are illuminated and visible.
