Here at CDI Innovative Construction Materials we provide a range of innovative domestic and commercial concrete floors. These are high performance structural floor systems that can be laid on timber or steel joists, providing floor reinforcement, wet room systems, underfloor heating, insulated concrete roof & ground floor systems for high load bearing situations. These are suitable for all types of construction from residential to industrial from new built to renovations. If you are planning a project that requires a new floor and you are wanting more than the average timber deck that over time will become noisy, move and eventually degrade then please get in touch.
We stock and supply a number of floor systems that provide the same or an improved performance as a traditional underfloor heating concrete ground floor, but for suspended floors. Suspended floors are typically constructed using timber or steel beams or joists and are above a void or a room below. These systems include a steel sheet that reinforces and stiffens the floor (being steel it also spreads the heat across the floor and eliminates any cold spots) and allows for a thin screed or concrete to be used over the top.
Creating a wet-room in either a new-build or renovation situation on the 1st floor is often complicated by the presence of timber floors that move and flex and therefore end up with expensive leaks. Our systems are primarily floor strengthening and reinforcing systems that also allow the incorporation of wet room drains directly into the floor. This then gives the same concrete feel to the whole of the floor and because of the stiffness of the systems, they allow the use of large format tiles of any type including ceramic, marble, porcelain or stone.
LEWIS Dovetailed metal decking, as part of a joisted floor system, provides a first class solution where acoustics and fire protection are key concerns. The Lewis system works very well with screeded underfloor heating and cooling systems, allowing them to work more efficiently than without the sheets in place. LEWIS provides a number of solutions. Op-deck is a lightweight insulated floor and roof system. The advantages of composite metal deck concrete floors and traditional rib floors have been combined in this unique patented floor/ roof system.
Foundations are often the "unknown quantity" when it comes to build costs. Ground conditions, access, slopes, etc all have their part to play and can significantly add to the complexity of the project. We can supply a fast track, lightweight, quick install foundation system with steel screw-piles, a steel lattice ring-beam, the FastSlab internal floor and the Lewis deck to cap it off. The FastSlab Foundation System is a fast track method to construct foundations and ground floors, ideal for sites with limited access, poor ground conditions, flood plain locations and areas with tree root issues.
Lewis Deck can be used in a number of different situation and buildings and we can also tailor make sheets to suit different sites.
