Passive Fire protection is an integral part of ensuring that a building is adequately protected against the spread of fire. Passive fire protection attempts to contain fires or slow the spread, through use of fire-resistant walls, floors, and doors etc. Joined Double L Ltd in 2002 as Operations Manager, following 28 years working in the City of London in the financial sector, managing operations across the UK for Barclays.
We are able to supply bespoke doors and frames that match the existing door set that may be already present or as per the clients drawing requirements. We are able to undertake specialist joinery items such as diminished styles doors, shaped head work to suit curved brick work openings, louvre doors etc. In addition, we are able to design and incorporate bespoke door sets within specialist fire screens we manufacture from our own bespoke designs/CAD drawings. These can be manufactured to achieve the correct fire rating and are manufactured from Sapele timber to the density required within the specification.
Our joinery workshop designs and produces bespoke high specification staircases constructed from a variety of timbers these being, American and European Oak, Walnut and traditional Parana Pine. Staircases manufactured range from standard straight softwood flights, through to very detailed winders, half and quarter landings incorporated into the staircase design. A variety balustrading designs is available including timber spindles and glazed balustrading together with alternative handrail designs.
Our roofing services were the original foundation of the company but as time has moved on and the request for additional services has been requested the company has diversified into other areas as detailed above. In saying this we as a family run organisation having not forgotten were we started and the roofing aspect of the business is still an integral part of our organisation.
A variety of window styles and shaped heads can be manufactured from a selection of timbers both softwood and hardwood dependent upon the clients requirements, these range from standard casement sashes and frames, storm-proof sashes, curved headed frames, bay windows and double hung spring balanced sliding sashes. A selection of draught proofing and weather seals can be incorporated into to each design. If required single panes or alternatively sealed units can also be supplied to suit the joinery that we manufacture.
