Established in 1985 after serving an apprenticeship with Bett Brothers and J + J Hosie, W.Irvine Slating & Roofing, Dundee, is now one of the longest family run roofing businesses in the Dundee and Angus area. We take pride in providing a professional, personal roofing service primarily based on word of mouth and recommendations from satisfied customers. We run two small teams of contractors but every job will be at least started and finished by Willie himself; ensuring the highest standards of workmanship are maintained throughout every job, however big or small.
Too many contractors are quick to recommend using Spanish slates or some other foreign import as these are clean, new, pre-nailed and ready to use. Scotch slates, on the other hand, are dirty, random sized and need a lot of preparation prior to re-use, making them labour intensive. But these same slates which are sometimes over 100 years old, will provide a tough hard wearing roof for another 100 years, which can't be said about any of the imported slates.
