The radiators and pipework are just as important parts of your central heating system as your boiler. It's important to keep them maintained so they are working efficiently as possible. A typical heating system should last you around 15-20 years. Gair Gas will check your radiators during your annual boiler service, making sure your system is balanced and advising you if sludge is present. We recommend inhibitor be added to your system every 5 years to help stop corrosion in your radiators, this can be done at the same time as a boiler service.

Our work on installing boilers carries a 12 month guarantee against faulty workmanship. Manufacturer's warranty for the boilers ranges from 1-10 years depending on the make of the boiler. Problems arising from our workmanship within the guarantee period, will be dealt with as a priority. Underfloor heating has become more popular due to the little maintenance the system requires. There are no radiators hanging on the walls which is more aesthetically pleasing and therefore the distribution of heat is more even. However, just because you have decided you want underfloor heating on the ground floor of your property, this does not mean upstairs also has to have underfloor heating too.
