Waters and Acland is an award winning and thriving commercial fine furniture workshop and Furniture school based in the English Lake District National Park. They specialise in bespoke commissions with each unique design being made by highly skilled cabinet makers, with meticulous craftsmanship, and without compromise. The guiding principal of \'perfection in the making\' is applied to both the commercial cabinet making workshop as well as the Waters and Acland Furniture School. It is fundamental in the goal of providing furniture courses of the highest standard.
According to the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, any piece of bespoke furniture awarded a bespoke guild mark can be described as having been designed and made by one of the finest designer craftsmen in Britain. We are therefore justifiably proud to have been awarded 2 bespoke guild marks in recent years with our head cabinet maker Tim Smith having received a further guild mark from work at a previous workshop. We constantly strive for perfection in our making and over the coming years, and with the support of our clients, we hope to create more exciting bespoke furniture and to receive many more of these prestigious awards.
The Waters and Acland Furniture School is dedicated to providing fine furniture training of exceptional quality. Our training facilities lie at the heart of our thriving commercial workshops and the workshop principal of ‘Perfection in the making' is carried into the design and implementation of all that we offer within the furniture school. Whether you choose the one week ‘cabinet making course' to get a feel for the quality achievable, set your sights on mastering hand skills on the ‘craftsman course' or aim for true mastery on both the ‘master craftsman' and ‘designer makers courses', we have put much thought into establishing cabinet making courses that work for all.
