Here in our Carlisle workshops we create exquisite furniture from the finest materials & woods using timbers from well managed sustainable forests. The possibilities are unlimited because we use a variety of materials such as Pippy Oak, Oak, Sweet Chestnut, Walnut, Ash, Maple, Tulipwood and other species of timber. Work surfaces include Staron solid surface worktops by Samsung, Granite, Solid Wood and Silestone. Our furniture handle choice is unlimited as they are individually selected to suit your style.

Cumbria Kitchen & Bedroom Furniture, based in Carlisle, Cumbria, is a family owned, family run business. The Cotter family has been running family businesses for over 40 years in the construction and home improvement industries in Cumbria. The ownership and leadership of Cumbria Kitchen & Bedroom Furniture is spread between the older and experienced family members and the enthusiastic younger generation, giving balance and stability, and a mixture of ideas gained from different environments. The family shares the same ethos and beliefs on how things should be done and this gives Cumbria Kitchen & Bedroom Furniture its competitive edge.

With over 39 years of experience, we are able to create a kitchen designed individually for you. All of the team here at Cumbria Kitchens and Bedroom Furniture aim to provide a service second to none. A hand painted oak kitchen, with the popular Staron Aspen Pepper worktops, Staron worktops are non porous, stain & heat resistant. The LED under lighting helps create a comfortable atmosphere within the kitchen environment.

Contemporary kitchens are some of our most exciting projects, embracing simple design, technical innovation, and high-quality materials with the durability to stand up to the demands of the modern life. Clean lines and minimal embellishment are the hallmarks of the softer, more transitional contemporary style with the disappearance of handles, and some gadgets hidden behind doors, to create a seamless uncluttered look. In this photograph you will see we have used a concave door to the corner unit and convex pan drawers coupled with shaped worktops to create flowing lines which are very easy on the eye.

This luxury bedroom furniture is ideal for storing all your clothing and accessories, and those treasured possessions - there is a place for everything.

This displays a framed unit, with bi-fold double doors lifting upwards, getting away from the traditional left to right or right to left door opening, giving full access into the unit. The mechanism is very sturdy and is adjustable in width and height to the client's preference. It incorporates a soft close mechanism so that in the last 30mm the door pulls itself until closed completely. Pictured here is an example using a mixture of traditional timber and opaque glass, the glass can also be clear or coloured.

The pull out larders are a great storage solution, it allows tall cabinets to be fully utilised. The trays are available in different sizes which allow you to store pots and pans as well as groceries. A gentle pull opens the unit and the trays glide out smoothly, all items can be seen easily and can be accessed from either side so nothing will be forgotten about. Both use the soft close mechanism and with just the push of the door the carousel spins 360 degrees and you can see all objects on the trays.

Pictured here is the use of American Oak stained and patina complete with a Victorian inset bead. The doors are complimented with antique bronzed latch type handles to give that Victorian look. Pictured is a bespoke bathroom featuring a square style basin with mirrored vanity unit above with tiled walls. We fitted handle free storage units in moisture resistant, wipe clean laminate perfectly suitable for a bathroom. A fitted bathroom we carried out in Wigton, Cumbria is pictured here including laminate worktops and Upstands, back to wall toilet with hidden system and semi integrated sink. A vanity unit with two mirrored doors and colour matching knobs was placed on the wall as well as a number of units around the toilet and sink.

Oak(or Quercus as it is known in Latin) is a hardwood with some 400 known species. It is a dense strong hardwood, popular for its beautiful and attractive grain markings, ideal for furniture requiring strength and reliability. We use several types of oak wood in the manufacture of our fine furniture, but the most popular by far is the natural oak which has a brown colour running through it, or the distinctive pippy oak, which has a cat paw appearance on its surface. We use sustainable wood from sustainable forests and our timber suppliers are members of the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council).

With the home office it can be hidden behind doors and would look like a simple wardrobe or it can be an open plan office area and all manufactured in our own workshops. All of our bespoke fitted furniture is available in a range of woods including, Maple, Ash, Pippy Oak, Oak, European Oak, Tulipwood, Sweet Chestnut and many more with a huge colour pallet to chose from. A variety of different features can be included when creating a home office, as you can see from the picture filing drawers containing business or personal documents can be stored neatly in one place and out of sight.

We at Cumbria Kitchen & Bedrooms have more than 40 years experience installing bespoke furniture. From Joinery, plumbing and wiring to gas connections. All gas work is carried out by a gas registered engineer and all electrical work meets current institute of electrical engineers standards, all our joiners are time served. We are also pleased to offer our clients the professional services of our team of builders who are experienced in all aspects of building work, flooring and decoration are all part of our service if required.

Pictured here is a full shop fit we carried out for Jopsons Jewellers in Carlisle. We worked alongside the proprietors to create a design that would work for them and their clients. We also created the cube glass display units which have a removable glass top with lockable storage cupboards underneath. A modern style reception desk was installed as well as a watchmaker's station specifically made and designed for the repair of watches. All the furniture was created in the clients corporate colours with company logos where required.
