Rustic Oak specialises in creating stunning bespoke pieces of rustic solid oak furniture for anyone who is looking to add a little charm and character to their home. Each piece of furniture is hand crafted to order and can be tailored to suit individual needs. From rustic oak dining tables, olde worlde bookcases and rustic coffee tables, we at Rustic Oak are seasoned oak furniture professionals with a wealth of experience, along with the passion and skill in creating bespoke furniture to grace a variety of environments.

Rustic Oak was created in 2005 by Nick Halls and we started as a Sole Trader business. Since 2005, Rustic Oak has grown and matured, like the oak it uses, and continues to do so. Nick designs, creates and builds all the Bespoke Oak Range furniture. In October 2012, we changed the structure of the business and we are now Rustic Oak Limited but still trade as Rustic Oak. Nick and his wife Rebecca are the Directors of Rustic Oak Limited. All items in the Bespoke Oak Range are made to order to allow for each customers individual size, style and finish requirements.

A great way of making a fireplace more of a feature is with a natural oak beam fire surround. Our Bespoke Oak range is all handmade to order at our workshop in Essex. It covers both contemporary and classic traditional styles creating a statement in any home. The oak used for this particular item is solid Seasoned Oak which has been air dried to a lower moisture content. This means that it will not crack and move like the Green Oak used on some of our other products. As this range is handmade to order, we can change the sizes to suit your personal requirements if the ones stated here do not match the space that you have.

Many lounges or other general living spaces contain a coffee table, but not many can boast one made from natural wood - much less built to order - as with our handmade oak coffee tables. Most homes have at least one or two bookcases or shelving units; but by choosing one or more of our handmade oak bookcases you can own a unique, stylish piece of top-quality furniture to store books, CDs or DVDs, framed photos or maybe your audio-visual equipment or micro hi-fi unit. Our oak bookcases are available in various sizes and types. Choose from the classic bookshelf style to more of a shelving unit depending on your needs. A variety of finishes are possible including dark or medium oak effects and more.

All items in the Oak Beam Range are made to order to allow for each customers individual size, style and finish requirements. From offering this bespoke service, we have built items such as bathroom sink units and different designs of dining tables which have then become popular bespoke pieces!

We welcome any visitors to our workshop, which is very much a working one! We usually have various styles of Oak Dining Tables and Coffee Tables being made so this can be useful to give you an idea of the end result, finish, style and quality, should you place an order with us for a bespoke oak item. Our oak beam and seasoned oak furniture mostly looks after itself due to it's robust nature. The oak beams will have splits and cracks so do not worry about this, it is natural and is how oak behaves as it matures giving it the rustic look. Although our coffee tables and dining tables may arrive without any cracks or splits, this doesn't meant they will not occur over time, mainly within the first few weeks while it adjusts to the new temperature it is located in. This is all totally normal behaviour for the oak.
